Meet Dr. Barber

My top priority is to create a friendly and comfortable environment for my patients.

Jacob S. Barber, DDS, is from Oakdale, CA, and graduated from Oakdale High School in 2005—Mustang Born, Mustang Bred. He lives in Modesto, CA, and joined Dr. Baker at Greater Modesto Dental Implant & Oral Surgery Center in 2014.

Certifications

Dr. Barber has been a member of the Modesto Study Club since 2014, focusing on advancement and excellence in implant dentistry. In 2015, Dr. Barber started the Young Dentist Study Club of Stanislaus County to promote learning and excellence among colleagues. He has been active within the Stanislaus Dental Society leadership team and is the alumni president of his oral surgery residency training program.

Education

He completed his pre-dental studies in Stockton at the University of the Pacific in 2007 and went on to earn his DDS from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. His oral and maxillofacial surgery residency was at Highland Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center, Children’s Hospital, and Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, CA. Dr. Barber received his board certification in 2016 from the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, where he is a Diplomate. He is also BLS/ACLS-certified and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)-certified.

Outside The Office

Dr. Barber is married to his amazing wife Katie, an avid Steelers fan from Pittsburgh, PA. When he isn’t treating his patients at Greater Modesto Dental Implant & Oral Surgery Center, Dr. Barber enjoys skiing, paddle boarding, traveling, and swimming, but he particularly loves rock climbing, having climbed the granite domes and peaks of Yosemite growing up. He is passionate about working on community and neighborhood improvement projects like the Ryan Michael Barber Splashpad and Pool Renovation and is a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Dr. Barber and his wife are blessed with a daughter, Brooke, a son, Ryan (who passed away in 2017), a son, Matthew, born in 2018, and daughter Lily.
